About crossing to Vientiane

Vientiane is just across the Friendship Bridge from Nong Khai, but our cars may not cross the border, and you should not leave the car unattended at the checkpoint or bridge. If you want to go to Vientiane, arrange a handover with us first (agree place, time and delivery fee beforehand) or use a secure, attended car park, and note that the rental clock keeps running. Check visa rules, border hours and how to cross yourself.

Which car

For a short day trip a small car or sedan is the most economical, such as the Toyota Ativ or Suzuki Celerio (3,000 THB deposit). For 5–7 people look at the Xpander. Check rates and availability for your dates on the car pages.
